Ice retention relies on a variety of variables, including ice quality, type of ice (cubed, crushed, dry, blocked), ice quantity, environment, sunlight exposure, and much more. Due to the diversity of external factors and the lack of industry standards for ice retention measurement, precise timeline claims are difficult to accurately predict. Often these ice retention claims (X number of days) are generated from simulated environments and are not practical in the real world. These high performance CaterGator coolers, however, offer virtually indestructible, triple insulated polyethylene construction that, given our thorough testing, offer unbeatable ice retention for all your adventures. To maximize your ice retention, minimize exposure to direct sunlight and other impacting variables.
My cooler leaks from the lid when it’s turned on its side or flipped upside down. Does this mean it’s not sealing?
No. These coolers are designed to remain right side up. The weight of the lid, the gasket, and locking the latches creates the seal. Once tipped, this weakens the seal of the lid gasket and can cause water to seep out.

This is the best bang for your buck, period. I use this for keeping large pieces of meat cool for many days. It holds ice equal time to my Yeti, RTIC, and ORCA coolers. The latches are much better and solid feeling then the RTIC and Yeti. The feet don't come off when sliding the cooler like the RTIC coolers do. And the plug chain is a nice feature so you don't lose the thing. The corner metal bottle openers are great to hook locks through when your in need to chain or secure the cooler. I own 3 of these Cator Gator Coolers and will keep buying more.
