Avantco A-23F-HC 29" Solid Door Reach-In Freezer

Hasn’t functioned properly since installation. Had a repair person out to inspect under warranty, defrosted the freezer and claimed that would solve the problem. Two weeks later the same thing, holding food at 20 degrees, not -5 as it’s set. Currently waiting for another warranty repair person to come again. The wait for one of their reps to come inspect has been 4 days on average. That’s too long to be without a properly functioning freezer.

Very good freezer overall. Easily adjustable shelving inside. My only complaint is that when you open the door and the temperature drops a few degrees, the door becomes incredibly difficult to open again.

Purchased this machine and it was working good until one month in. Now the machine can't reach near 0 degrees, even if I set it to -1 degrees. It isn't stable on temperature wise and I purchased warranty and left a voicemail, still no reply. We had items in our store that is required to be in set temperature to be best served such as ice cream, etc. I would reccomend if you have items that have wiggle room for temperature control, if not I would just spend a extra couple hundred for a better freezer.

this product is junk. do not buy this. the warranty is only 1 year and after that you are stuck with scrap metal. pos costed by 700 in repair after the warranty and its still not working. better off getting another brand. i hate avantco products.

Really happy with this unit. There is a lot of room in it to store items. And cools back down very quickly after opening the door also.

This freezer keeps and maintains temperatures as needed. Very sturdy and solid freezer. I am looking at buying a 2 door Avantco freezer. This beats all of the higher priced models.

This Solid Door Reach in Freezer makes it easier to grab what you need without going into the walk-in Freezer all the time. It's very convenient.

I loved this freezer and now the coil doesn’t hood temperature- I get the repair guy out and then within 3 weeks it doesn’t freeze and hold temp under 15 degrees. I should have read these reviews first - I’ve spent so much on repairs

Keeps temperature well and provides lots of room for frozen product. The only issue I have is that it does not open for about 30 seconds after the door closes. Apparently there is some sort of suction created that prevents the door from being opened too often. Not sure if this is standard on newer freezers but makes it hard to constantly pull product out during our busy periods.

This unit is terrible and we have had multiple issues with it. Now that it’s not under warranty anymore Websturant is washing their hands in assisting. They told me the part we need to repair it is not manufactured and we are on our own to figure it out. This unit didn’t go into service until January even though I purchased it in May. So it has really only been used for under a year and it’s junk. Stay away from this freezer.

DO NOT BUY THIS! SERIOUSLY!! We own several different pieces of avantco equipment & have not had any problems, but this freezer is GARBAGE! I hesitated when ordering based on the reviews & thought they should have it sorted out buy now. The freezer does not cool at all, I contacted webstaurant for help & they sent me to contact the manufacturer. I’ve reached out to the manufacturer 2 times with no help or update. Disappointed in Avantco since they haven’t let me down before but even more so in Webstaurant since Avantco is like a house brand for them & they haven’t aided at all in a fixing the GARABE FREEZER they sold me. We have spent $50k + on the last year or so with them & it’s sad this is the service we have received. Seriously do not buy this & spend a bit more money & buy something else. It’s sad that I bought a freezer for $400 less & it hasn’t missed a beat.

This is a great freezer. For the price, you cannot beat it. We've been using it for almost a year now and have had no issues.

The church culinary committed love the purchases that we made for this and avantco freezer it allows us to store multiple items and a large capacity with its square footage that it holds.

Great freezer at a great price. This ships bolted to the pallet, which is great for shipping but it was a bit tricky to get the bolts out. We didn’t require much freezer space for our store and this was the perfect size for us.

Really avoid this model. I have 3 of this and a worktop freezer, the worktop seams to work fine, the reach-in are a nightmare. i got the first 2 about 6 months ago, they seems to be fine until few days ago, now I start finding area of the freezer were the food was not freeze at all, the side and bottom are at 30 degrees, food on top is fine and the display shows -5, with the result that I have to throw away sashimi grade products. The third freezer never worked, I called the warranty, they call a company and they said the freezer doesn't have any coolant at all, they filled up and it was ok for 3 days, now it's a 60 degrees and we throwed away more products, I called again, both Websrestaurant and Avantco, I'd like just like to send back the new Read More

We have had nothing but problems with this unit since it has arrived. Its been more frustrating dealing with the company warranty department, as we continue to experience the same issue with nothing being done to replace the unit. The service company has been out no less than 5 times in the 6-7 months we've owned it. I would not recommend this company or product currently.

Perfect price and size for the micro bakery. We have one freezer this one! It’s great. Size is perfect and has wheels easy to clean. If I need more I’m getting this again, I also use the reach in fridges and sandwich carts from avantco All great pieces

Do not buy this product, defrost defrost defrost was the huge problem, we had four services since i purchased on Janurary, only one guy did a right job fix it and lasted for 3 months, it is currently having problem again. The temperature keeps going up. Very frustrating!

Not recommended. Twice I have had the defroster fail which causes ice build-up and a failure to get to freezing temperature. I wish I had spent the extra money for a better brand and saved the hassle of making warranty claims, losing time and food product. Once it is out of warranty I am worried that I'll have to spend more time and money dealing with this headache.

I got this freezer back in may it worked great for the first two weeks, then started frozen on the top -above the fan- and holding the temperature around 20-30 degrees. After talking with costumer service, they sent a repair person a week later to solve the problem , and they did repair it, but after two weeks the ice started building on the top again. It has been almos four months and four technician visits and the problem persist, just to give an idea to costumer service every time that they come to repair the “freezer” it has to be empty it and disconnected for the ice to melt. It is a waste of time and money, since no one can fix it and the freezer is still in warranty. I would like a solution ASAP

As a previous review stated it is great when it's working. We used it for less than two weeks when it gave up and temp bounced around from 10° to 50°. Called for warranty repair and they were helpful walking me through what it might have been, I had already checked those things. They assumed it was frozen over and needed defrosted but it was obvious there was no ice build up. Repair man came next day only to tell us it probably needed defrosted, he took It apart and unplugged it even though there was no visible ice build up. He didn't return for 12 days! He spent 5 minutes here and said he would have to order parts! We are now at a point that the freezer has been down longer than it worked. I would spend a little extra and avoid this unit.

Easy to install and easy to clean. I can do a lot more production now that I have the space to storage it. And because I have previously bought the fridge, it looks good to have the fridge/freezer side to side.
